Yes, indeed.Currently PASE can run AIX programs, which is nice but not very threshold lowering. If PASE could also run PowerPC Linux programs natively (and officially support e.g. Debian dpkg files), a whole new world would open!
Perhaps, instead of converting system i applications to run with things that can run on Intel, we should try to get Intel applications converted to run on system i.
