It might not be such new ground

I did a lot of perl web development on the iseries 8 years ago

Then, performance turned out to be such a bottleneck that we moved the web apps on to NT servers

Of course power has increased dramatically but you may be better off pursuing the PHP route ( or something else ) IMHO

Has anyone on this list use perl on an iSeries for web development? I know perl can run on i, we have a 3rd party app that uses it for some processes and I know perl can be used for web development on unix/linux platforms but I can't say I have ever heard of anyone using perl for web development on i.
