Brian,

When this was installed, it was using the ZEND core menus.  I believe
that it was ZEND CORE responding to starting a MYSQL option from the
menu, so I guess it would be from the savf.

I don't know that it was QSECOFR, but it was a profile with *SECOFR authority.

Yes, the jobq is in ZMYSQL, and is attached to the ZMYSQL subsystem.

I found a note in the archives at
http://archive.midrange.com/web400/200903/msg00055.html that includes;

Here are the notes from 2.5.1:
MySQL extension is not working after updating Zend Core with 2.5.1, the
libmysqlclient.a file should be removed from /usr/local/Zend/core/lib.
Note: The new MySql client libmysqlclient.a file is placed in the
following directory /usr/local/Zend/core/lib/mysql

I found the libmysqlclient.a file in the mentioned directory, and
renamed it to *.old. The same file was in th .../mysql subdirectory
I will do some testing when the PHP programmer and the graphic
designer have gone home to see if the problem is fixed.

I have seen this happen more than once.

1.  Did you use the windows installer or the SAVF?
2.  When installing via either method, did you log in using QSECOFR?
3. Does the ZMYSQLJBQ jobq in library ZMYSQL exist?  Is it attached to the
ZMYSQL subsystem?

Subject
[WEB400] Auto starting ZEND and MYSQL subsystem and MYSQL Daemon

After a quick check of the archives, where I did not see this addressed,
and
looking at the ZEND forums, where It is only partially addressed, I am
looking for how to gracefully end and start the ZEND and ZMYSQL
subsystems,
the ZEND http server instance, and the MYSQL daemon.  The only way I have
gotten the daemon to start is to start a PASE shell session, then issue
the
'mysqld_safe &' command.  This puts the daemon running in QINTER.

What am I missing in getting the MYSQL daemon to start in the ZMYSQL
subsystem?  It does not seem to start when I start either the ZEND or
ZMYSQL
subsystems, nor does it start when taking the "4. Start MySQL daemon" menu
option off of the "Zend MYSQL Management" menu.

Thanks!

Jim
