Apparently JBoss 5 is - I haven't tried it for a while now - but JPA was designed to be able to run outside of a JEE environment which is the primary reason I even considered it (no fun in writing simple applications which needs a gigantic server to run).

There is a list of JEE 5 application servers here: http://java.sun.com/javaee/overview/compatibility.jsp (with WAS 7 in there).

I really found Glassfish simple to work with in Eclipse so when time permits I'll see if I can make the AIX version run in PASE.


(And "Thorbjoern" is fine for a US-ASCII rendering of my name, no need to cut and paste (but I appreciate it:), oh the blessing of ethnic names ) )
