I'm thinking that Net.Data might be simpler/quicker
to get something up and running and then could be
easily transitioned to .NET or Java.
Whether it's simpler/quicker to get something up and running obviously
depends on your existing knowledge. I can get a "simple" app up and
running under the MS stack in minutes because I know MS. I'm sure a Java
person can do the same as could a PHP person or a Net.Data person. Now,
if you SHOULD do that is another story.
But regardless, I think the concept that any of those approached can be
"easily transitioned" to another is where the fallacy lies. Just like
you can't easily transition from RPG to Java, or easily transition from
PHP to Ruby, you're not going to easily transition from Net.Data to
anything else. Once you have code established and running it's never
"easy" to move it somewhere else.
