I think the server-side is better. But "better" is a relative term.
Certainly the client-side is more wiz-bang, and in many ways, that makes
it "better." Sad but true. But if you include the ability to maintain,
look at the long term viability of the code, and consider how it's used
in applications I believe server-side is better.

"Better" also has to be measured against the usage. What's "better" for
web sites and web applications is probably different. As is what's
"better" for salesy sites and functional sites. As is what's better for
public-at-large sites and restricted-access sites.

Is it really a question of client vs server side, or is it really just a
thicker client side? You still need the data from the server, just
presenting it with a thicker client.
