still going to be developed using server-side tech for the next
number of years.

You may be right. Not much change in the near future. But is that because the major vendors need time to change their tooling and for developers to adapt to it? Or is it because the server-side technology is better? That's a serious question. I'm trying to size up the the rich UI stuff coming down the pike.
