I'm with you, Aaron.  And have wished this for a long time
(but didn't have a nice example of how to express it.. )

Instead of these %bifs that we all fight over, copy the
useful libraries other languages have so we do as well.

Then make an RPG VM and sell it to run on any platform.  :)
