Jon,

Based on what I see hereon:

Don't' remember saying anything about XPF, but....It's not a "wild
generalization" to say that most hereon don't talk in the same industry
standard terms of application development languages and database
creation and manipulation against an RDBMS, like your competition does,
except for the Presentation Layer. That's what separates it from the
rest of the IT world, why it's seen as a niche platform and doesn't get
taken seriously when it comes time to buy a new platform, many times out
of a 100. I wish it weren't so and I hope its changing..

However, if you are talking in the terms I mention, I applaud you
because only then will you be taken seriously in the rest of IT.

Sincerely,

Dave

and
has done something to improve the image of the platform!!

You are generalizing wildly again Dave. Most of us who responded
_have_
done the same thing. Some of us spend our working lives doing nothing
but
trying to educate others on how to modernize XPF applications. Just
because
we don't agree with you that SQL is the answer to everything doesn't
mean
that we don't work to improve the image of the platform.

P.S. Kudos to Mike for applying a philosophy of "right tool for the
job"
rather than simply throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
