Apache Axis is nice and another option is to use WDSc's facilities which are
full of features for building web services. If you have a subscription to
iSeriesNetwork check out the March '05 issue. I wrote an article on how to
create a web service using WDSc (Java). WDSc does a ton of work for you so
you can focus on accomplishing the business task at hand. Of course
eventually you will need to know what is going on under the covers (so you
can fix it when it breaks :-)

Subject: [WEB400] Soap,Xml, and Web Services on iSeries

Hi Everybody,

        I am being tasked to provide, and interface with, a web service
using soap
and xml. I have done xml using java OS classes. I would like to run
directly on the iSeries. Is Apache Axis a good approach? Any Suggestions?
Thanks.
