        Thanks for the reply.  I have read your article, and intend to go 
through
the steps you describe (when I get time)<smile>.  I am using wdsci for
rpg/dds stuff now.  I am almost totally ignorant of the whole web service
arena, but it looks like I won't be for long... <g>  Thanks again - I am
going to look at wdsci first.

Apache Axis is nice and another option is to use WDSc's facilities which are
full of features for building web services.  If you have a subscription to
iSeriesNetwork check out the March '05 issue.  I wrote an article on how to
create a web service using WDSc (Java).  WDSc does a ton of work for you so
you can focus on accomplishing the business task at hand. Of course
eventually you will need to know what is going on under the covers (so you
can fix it when it breaks :-)
