While there are shops that encourage education and retraining (Honeywell requires 40 hours a year), many shops are unwilling or unable to retrain existing resources. Rather, the trend seems to be to create a team by hiring from without but only *after* the requirements are defined. Or as Alanis Morrissette wrote: "It's like 10,000 spoons, when all you need is a knife." ;-) great discussion, people!!!! These are real issues that we all face. dan
