Here's an idea Justin,

Instead of using href, embed the fields in a (hidden) form with type=GET.
Then create a link to a JavaScript that changes the form field values as
necessary and does a submit...

If that won't work for you and you really want to learn about JavaScript
windowing (and all sorts of other goodies) then check out "The Book of
JavaScript" by Thau. The best resource I've read on JavaScript.

Here is an example of windowing in JavaScript...

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--

function setEnviron() {
var env_window =
window.open("http://www.vamanet.com/members/CHGENV?PARM1=76453tr&PARM2=sessi
onID", "env_window", "width=300,height=300,scrollbars");env_window.focus();
}

//-->
</script>

You have a slew of options for setting window parameters. You control
whether or not you show the address bar, toolbars, sizing, the works.
