This may have been the reason for using named ag's. At any rate I've been using named ag's for everything new for years. The ag is always named the same as the RPG pgm. The driver cl is never part of the ile pgm so that it (the cl) can reclaim the activation group. Some of my pgms (not necessarily cgi) have been around long enough now that I've had to make changes. So I've learned first hand that updpgm and updsrvpgm work, and that binder language is a great thing.
