Hm. I would have thought that "webservice" would be a word to describe the things a web server does provide. But the link to alphaworks seems to describe an upcoming product or something like that. But in the context of the other sentences of Jim's mail, one, or at least me, wouldn't assume that. I do believe that almost nobody is using iSeries' disk space and CPU for static pages only. If someone uses the iSeries as a web server, they have at least one page with dynamic data and are on the way to build more. All others use other platforms to provide static infos or have it still "outsourced" at their provider. At least here in Austria people do calculate the cost of their internet presence, and the iSeries starts paying off when they try to get data from their iSeries into their pages. A customer decided to still serve his static pages from his provider's webspace and only the dynamic ones from the iSeries. (Makes quite sense, as more than 90% of the requests concern static pages with quite some pictures (seldom changing pages without prices) and their connection isn't that fast to handle that traffic.) Without asking them, you probably wouldn't know that there are parts of the site that are dynamic and are served by an iSeries. Is this article available online somewhere? I'd like to read it, before i say that it is wrong and a shot in the knee. (oops! :-) Thanks, Anton Gombkötö
