I've been going around and around on this with a client. I've loaded
WebSphere so many different ways over the last few releases that I can never
remember what's the current way to do things.

Here's what (I think) I know about V4R5:

1. You have to install the group PTFs for WebSphere. This gets you the QEJB
library, among other things.

2. The adminclient is a different animal. The install instructions tell you
to "load it from the media for your machine, for example, if your console is
a Windows NT box, load the Windows NT media", or words to that effect. The
point is that this media is what you get when you actually buy WebSphere
other than for the iSeries. Unfortunately, this media is never sent as part
of the base OS, or even as part of the group PTF. It seems this is an
additional magic piece that you have to know to order. Am I correct here?

3. There was someplace on the IFS an area where the adminclient was located,
and you could copy that down to your workstation. Does this ring a bell
with anyone?

In any event, I'm trying to get a client installed. We're getting closer,
but it's really a three ring circus sometimes. Is this same procedure
necessary on V5R1 as well?

Joe
