John have a look at the IGNITe archive a few of the people have been doing quite a lot of stuff with it. Bob has managed to get most things going, we have run Net.Data and RPG CGI, and also WAS and SSL. There are issues though such as no SSI support, and the admin screens can do some very nasty things to your config if you get it wrong. We are also writing some articles on how to configure and run Apache and I would say the best place for docs is the actual apache website. http://ww2.ignite400.org/Lists/ign_list/List.html Thanks Bleddyn http://www.ignite400.org - iSeries eBusiness User Group http://www.morpheus.co.uk - Morpheus - eBusiness Solutions -----Original Message----- From: owner-web400@midrange.com [mailto:owner-web400@midrange.com]On Behalf Of John Hall Sent: 29 March 2001 18:06 To: WEB400@midrange.com Subject: HTTP Server vs Apache We are currently using the IBM HTTP server and are considering switching to Apache. We use it for intranet only. Some general info pages and some pages are ssl and secured by certificates. Any reason not to switch? Reasons to switch? Is it faster or slower? Any memory / DASD problems like all the posts I've been seeing on WAS?
