Hi,

Regarding the concerns, RDi 9.8 is not using IBM Installation Manager. It is using a simplified installation process where you take the zip, unzip it, and you are done. Nothing is added to the Start menu but you can create a shortcut to the RDi.exe and put it where you prefer.

Thanks,

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.8 questions/concerns/comments
Currently licensed to 9.6 and have just installed 9.8 on a Win10
Professional box. Looking for traces of 9.8 under by looking for IBM,
Rational, and RDi.

Comments:
1) Install appeared to be easy--unzip and click on RDi.exe. Boom--done.
2) iSphere doesn't seem to be ready for 9.8.
3) I'm not using a secure communications method to access my remote host
but I do go through the Cisco VPN.

Concerns:
1) There's no trace of 9.8 in Installation Manager/View Installed Packages.
2) There's no trace of 9.8 in IBM Software Delivery Platform.
3) There's no trace of 9.8 in the Start menu.

Questions:
1) Does installing the activation kit address the "without a trace"
concerns?
2) Any changes to the update process?

Thanks!
