OK, I took a byte from the apple, as Bob looks like a solution to a problem
I've been trying to resolve. That said, downloaded
bob-2.2.2-0.ibmi7.3.ppc64.rpm.
fails when it runs. Hmmm. It looks like the V7R3 version has a V7R4
command in it, the TGTCCISID does exist on V7R4 but not at V7R3. .

system "CRTRPGMOD MODULE(CRTFRMSTMF/crtfrmstmf)
SRCSTMF('QSOURCE/crtfrmstmf.rpgle') TEXT('Create From Stream File')
REPLACE(*YES) DBGVIEW(*SOURCE) TGTRLS(V7R3M0) TGTCCSID(*JOB)"
CPD0043: Keyword TGTCCSID not valid for this command.
CPF0006: Errors occurred in command.
gmake: *** [makefile:17: crtfrmstmf.rpgle] Error 255
warning: %post(bob-2.2.8-0.ppc64) scriptlet failed, exit status 2

Ordinarily I'd just move it to V7R4 and be done with it, however we need to
be able to support recalcitrant users that will not keep up with IBM, so
V7R3 is as far as I can take it for now.

IBM is continuing to invest in BOB. Currently we are using Brian
Garland's https://github.com/BrianGarland/CRTFRMSTMF project to solve
compiling from IFS for DDS, UIM, OPM RPG etc. If you don't want to use all
of BOB (which provides a lot more functionality in terms of git-enabled
projects, smart dependency builds) you can always just use Brian's project.
We are trying to make BOB easily installable via a yum install and so we
may have to redevelop the CRTFRMSTMF functionality in Python in the
process. Watch https://github.com/IBM/ibmi-bob as the PR is already
there.

I suggest that you look at the open source project BOB (Better Object
Builder). It is designed to build IBM i objects out of IFS and handles all
types. Here is a link to the project https://github.com/IBM/ibmi-bob .
It is very comprehensive.

DDS is not ILE so I'm not surprised. Should not be an issue for us since
we are doing all new development for the view in Python(Flask)/HTTP. The
move of the source to IFS is a precursor to implementing GIT for source
control.

Exactly. The only thing I haven't found is how to compile DDS from IFS.

Never mind, I figured it out. CLP not liked. CLLE, that's OK.
Time to convert all my old CL to CLLE.
