Hi Jim,
You can always install into a new Package Group, that way you can keep your older installs;
We've expanded our Beta to 6 weeks, and expanded our Beta tester ranks, with the intention of making updates and installs easier and drama free. (But we could always use more Beta testers! Contact IBM support, or message me on LinkedIN)
If for no other reason, if you use copy books, you'll really want this fix pack! We added a hover feature and hyperlinks. So now you can view the entire IFS or QSYS copy or include file with a simple hover. Or hold the control key down and click the copybook open.
Even if you don't plan on using any of the Spring or Fall RPG updates, or copy hover, the #1 reason to update is security fixes from the IBM Java.
Hope this helps!

I understand the early adopters jumping on the RDi update very quickly, ;and I'm thankful for it. I now know to wait a bit to see what else might need some adjustment. Lacking a need for the new functionality, do we wait for the next service pack?
We've also learned that step one in any update is to update the installation manager, (sometimes a task in and of itself....) first since they tend to require each other.
So the question: how long do we wait for the interim fixes?
