RDi locks the member as long as the job is active

RDi then copied the source to your pc

All the changes are done on the pc until you save the source

So if you do not close the session in RDi
It will keep that source

For whatever reason your RDi session a job on the Ibm I ended releasing the locks

That allowed you to make changes in seu/ pdm

Pdm/seu is old and has not been update for more than 10 years. Seu relied on locks only

RDi checks for locks and then the last change date on the ibm I with the copy on your pc

That is why you got that message

On large systems it would take too long to check everything. There are other developers who could also work on the source so it would drive you nuts trying to check more than what RDi is doing now

I edited a source member earlier in the week. When I got done, I saved my
source and exited RDI. I did not close my source member before closing RDI.

Thursday and Friday I was on a different machine without RDI so I used SEU
to make a bunch of additional changes.

Today, I opened RDI. My source was open on the screen so I started making
changes. After about 30 minutes or so, I attempted to save. It told me
there was a more recent version and asked me what I wanted to do. I saved
my source to a different name and then did a source compare. None of the
Thursday or Friday changes were in the source I worked on today. I just
spent an hour trying to merge the two source files together and I'm still
not confident that I got everything.

When I start RDI, shouldn't it check any already open members to see if they
have been changed by something else and warn me that I am not viewing the
most recent version? Do I have something configured wrong somewhere?

I am using RDI version 9.5.
