Yeah, there is a setting to put them above or below, IIRC. I like the idea of leaving comments alone, as well.

But in the meanwhile, one could turn off auto-formatting while editing certain lines, then put it back on - klunky, yes.

And it might be possible to set up a key action to toggle this - I'm not sure of that, but maybe. Auto-formatting will leave lines alone that you don't touch, as I recall.

Again, klunky!
