Yes, that's what I do, Vern.  And yes, it's clunky.  But such is life.

Yeah, there is a setting to put them above or below, IIRC. I like the idea of leaving comments alone, as well.

But in the meanwhile, one could turn off auto-formatting while editing certain lines, then put it back on - klunky, yes.

And it might be possible to set up a key action to toggle this - I'm not sure of that, but maybe. Auto-formatting will leave lines alone that you don't touch, as I recall.

Again, klunky!

Except that then it doesn't auto-format, which I do want.  I just want a switch to tell it to leave my comments at the beginning.

No RFE needed.  Turn off the automatic formatting and you can format as you wish!
As suggested already leave tabs on for that simplicity.

This is definitely something I'd vote for as an RFE!  I also prefer leading comments on my CL.

Hi all

For tracing my source change, i usually insert in column from  1 to 6 an
annotation like  "/*XX01*/

Example :

/*AA01*/      chgvar     var(&KOOBJ) value(&KOOBJ *BCAT (%SST(&BUFFER 1 20))

  But  when i confirm my line in LPEX, automatically it change the line in
this way :

               chgvar     var(&KOOBJ) value(&KOOBJ *BCAT (%SST(&BUFFER 1  20))
/*AA01*/

  Is there any way to disable this automatic  reformat ?

  Thanks in advance
