What is selected in the call stack? Is the currently stopped thread what
is selected? Are the debug icons lit up at the top of the Debug
perspective? If you click the Resume icon (vertical yellow bar and green
right-facing triangle) does it continue? Is the icon lit (active)?

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [WDSCI-L] Debugging in RDi
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am on version 9.6.0.6

I am debugging a service program that is called from PHP running on IBMi

I set a service entry point in a service program I want to debug.

I initiate the required process from the web page and RDi switches to the
Debug perspective and I am in the program I have set the SEP for.

All good so far.

I set a breakpoint on the line I want.

This is the ONLY breakpoint set.

I press F8 to resume and the program stops at my break point.

I use F5 to step through each statement and subsequent call. As other
programs are entered they are added to the debug perspective.

I now want to resume and press F8 but the program does not seem to resume.

I click into the program that the debug perspective tells me is active and
press F8 which seems to do something as I am repositioned in the source
but the program is not resuming.

In GS debug I have;

F10=Step
F12=Resume
F22=Step Into

I thought in RDi these were equivalent to;

F6=Step over (Same as GS F10)
F5=Step into (Same as GS F22)
F8=Resume (Same as GS F12)

Is this correct ??

I have not found any way to actually get the process to resume without
ending the SEP and commonly having to restart RDi.

I generally do not have these issues if debugging a non PHP initiated
program.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

Don Brown
