It was the Compile in Batch option. Deselected that and the compiles are working now. Thanks for the input everyone.

With the Compile in Batch option selected, I assume that RDi is selecting the jobq based off the user's job description? Not sure why he wasn't able to find the job. Anyway, it's working now, so all is good.

Thanks

Well he should be able to tell where they want from the command log tab at the bottom of the screen.

I would suggest he deselects the "Compile in batch" option in preferences as the normal cause of this problem is compiles being submitted to a non-operative batch queue.

Another cause of no feedback is when a copy of the EVFEVENT file finds its way into QGPL or some other library that multiple people have on their library list. Admittedly I haven't seen this in a while so it may have changed.

I have a colleague that's just beginning to use RDi. He's consulting for a different company, so I'm posting this on his behalf.

Unfortunately I didn't have the answer for him, because my instance of RDi just works.

He's attempting to compile his first program, but nothing is happening. He gets the compile command prompt, and hits okay, but is not getting any feedback - no completion message or error list - and is unable to find the compile job anywhere on the system. It's not under his user profile, and he doesn't see anything in any of the jobq's.

Where do RDi compile jobs go? Where's the preference that controls this?

Thanks
