Do not EVER install the TURNOVER plugins the way Ken describes as his cheat
method, as it could hose your RDi installation.
ALWAYS follow the proper install instructions.

Doug,

I have been using the wonderful Turnover package for 28 years! Turnover
plugin since 2008. Kudos!

T100 client software instructions:
1.) Play it safe, close RDI
2.) Right-click your T100client.exe as "Run as Administrator"
3.) Click "Next"
4.) Checkbox checked for "Do not upgrade. Run a new Install" on the
Confirm Upgrade.
You might want to back up your workspace.
5.) click next
6.) Start RDI and check for your perspective "Turnover V100". Then it
worked properly!

The important thing is the "Do not upgraded. Run a new Install". If you
have Issues. <Hint Hint>
I think that might wipe out your turnover filters! But, I can easily
re-create them! Back-up your workspace.

Back-door Cheat method, use at your "own Risk". You could ALWAYS uninstall
the plugin! <Big Smile>
1.) Start RDI as "Run As Administrator" (Playing it safe...)
2.) > Help > Install new Software...
3.) Enter in "Turnover by SoftLanding/Unicom -
http://support.softlanding.com/t100client/2017Q2/";
NOTE: This *should* match your turnover level!
I do cheat once in a while install a newer one. But, Softlanding
always chews me out on that.
You have been warned.
NOTE: The first have is the Text: " Turnover by SoftLanding/Unicom - "
The second half is to get the update "
http://support.softlanding.com/t100client/2017Q2/";
2017-Quarter-2 update.
4.) I select the minimum RDI version: "RDI 9.5.1"
5.) I select "TURNOVER for iSeries V100"
6.) Click "NEXT"
7.) Click "Finish"
8.) Accept the authenticity warning. Click "OK"
In GIG-CITY, it is FAST! Under 30 seconds
9.) Say yes to "Restart"

So, the cheat method is my preferred way. Especially, if I need to walk
over to fellow IBM i developer. They are an impatient lot. And they like
FAST methods. They seem to have ZERO patience. <Punch-Card-Fossil> <LOL>

Normally, trying to get Newbies started on RDi, I install the following
plugins:
* Turnover (PAY)
* RPG Toolbox (PAY)
* RPG-Unit (FREE)
* iSphere (FREE) Install via eclipse Market Place! I wish all plugins
worked that way!
* Pathfinder/Hawkeye (Pay)

After installing all the plugins. On the last Plugin, then I do the
restart...

Hope that helps!

I use the Turnover plugin exclusively, I no longer no know how to navigate
1970's Green screen.

Once you learn it, it is light years superior to the 20th Century Green
Screen. Slight learning curve.

PS. RDI has made programming simpler/faster for me! LOVE IT! But, still
has rare occasion little bugs that need fixed. I love that RDI shows me my
errors in the code, and allows me FAST & EasY fixes! AWESOME!

Our punch card fossil, still loves the Stone Age editor with 19-lines.
Opening the compiler listing. And paging down to the error line. Oh well,
you cannot teach some old dogs new tricks. If unwilling to learn. <sad>

One fossil said they are proud that they used an out-house, vacuum tubes,
Hard-wired circuit boards and rotary phones.
They refuse the 21 century. No wonder they call our IBM i, the Univac-400.
They don't even know what OS they program on! Wow! Shocker!

Ken,

Just recently started using RDi, however I used to use WDSc and TurnOver a
long time ago. How did you install the plugin? I have the zip file from
TurnOver and I extracted it to a folder and executed T100client.exe,
however I did not get a perspective in RDi but a separate eclipse based
client.
