HI Paul,

The default value should be honored on a double click, and the Open with should display the DDS Designer when the user selects the menu. Neither of these behaviors is currently working for .gdspf types when added to the preferences.

Please open a PMR with IBM support so we can get a fix in place for the Fall release.

My guess is that despite the many configuration options that are available in RDi there have been certain assumptions made by the developers; one of those being that DSPF is the only source type that will work with the Screen Designer.
If you are willing to pursue this further I think you will need to contact the development team for RDi. I know they monitor this list. And I am a little surprised none of them have commented on this thread.

I set the check box (in File Associations) to make unassociated files prompt for an editor. I never get prompted, so this thing IS associated to SOMEthing. I also noticed when I dblclick and open it in the mystery editor, under the Source menu, I get an option for "DDS Help" -- so it KNOWS, somewhere, a little bit, even if the mystery editor is not DDS aware.

and copying that). Seems like it oughtta work, it just doesn't.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. Just tried it. Unfortunately only
the Remote Systems LPEX Editor appears as a candidate to "Open With"
- but not Screen Designer. (RDi 9.6.0.4.)
