Greg,

Glad to see that I am not the only one. Here are your options:

O Open PMR, and report to IBM
O Restart RDI, I sadly have to do that all the time.
O Close members, clear cache, and restart RDI. Yup, stuck doing that too.
O Restart RDI with the "-clean" option
O Create New work space
O Wait for another release, and hope they actual tested it, not to break existing functionality.

I have problems with the outline view, it does not work. So, if I cannot trust it, why use it?

PS. See what a "Great" time-saver RDI is for Developers? I just need an editor that works, and not "Playing Beta tester".

Sorry, I also don't have time to be a full-time beta-tester...

Oh yeah, blame windows, and get a MAC! <LOL> Yup, I have been told that....

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi performance

Running the latest version of RDi... some of the performance issues I've seen in the past have become so bad that it's nearly unusable.

1. I can't expand QRPGLESRC in RSE views... it stalls while downloading

2. Live parsing stalls at 66% - I have to close/restart RDi

3. Simple searches of small source members can sometimes take several minutes

The list goes on. It seems to be related communications between RDi and the IBM I (located about 20 yards away on the same Ethernet network).

Everything else on my Laptop is fast... For the most part, everything on the IBM I is fast.

How do I go about diagnosing this problem? What can I look for on the host side?

Like most of you, I really don't have the spare time for this.

Thx,
Greg
