The big advantage of RDi over SDA is that RDi can use named sets of indicators to control the screen in preview mode. It can also use named sets of records. These two features alone make it way better than SDA in my opinion which was always a real PITA to test screens with.
Since moving from design to preview is a simple matter of clicking on a tab I really don't see why I would want the added complexity of fields "disappearing" on me during the design process because I forgot to turn off/on an indicator.

This doesn't seem like too much of a problem - we never set indicators in the design part of SDA, only on the fly when testing a screen - STRSDA option 3.
So this seems to line up with how it was in practice with SDA - I know, I also have thought I should be able to set indicators on the design or properties area - but indicator values are not properties of any field - the __testing__ of the indicators is a property, not the value itself.
Am I missing something? Hope not, but always possible.
