Thanks... but I was there before posting the question. I see nothing about comments.

I simply would like an <enter> on a comment row to repeat the comment token "//" in the same row as the previous.

Ah, I misunderstood.
I thought you wanted to stop getting the repeated * comment lines.

There's no easy way that I know of to continue to repeat // comment
lines. On the other hand, I am lazy, and when I'm writing a block of
comments, I just type them out without comment markers at all. This
gives the parser fits, but it's there to serve me, not the other way
round :-) After I've written my block of comments, I use Alt-L and the
cursor keys to highlight the block, then use Ctrl-/ to make them all
comment lines. They remain 'selected' so indenting them is easy enough
with Alt-F8/F7. Alt-U will remove the selection from the block.

Ctrl-Shift-F (auto-format) might work for you if you set the preferences
right. I'm not that advanced yet :-)

When using asterisks for comment lines... If you're on commented line

When using // as comments (**FREE or not), pressing enter just creates a new blank line w/out comments.

Can this behavior be controlled?

I believe that this setting is controlled by 'Repeat previous specification type'.
