The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

When using // as comments (**FREE or not), pressing enter just creates a new blank line w/out comments.
Can this behavior be controlled?
I believe that this setting is controlled by 'Repeat previous
specification type'.

Key behavior. The filter text I use to find that is 'behavior'.
I'm thinking that * is a 'Comment spec' whereas // is a 'Comment token'.
We can put a // comment after any code, but not a * comment.
Another way to 'disable' this behaviour is to press Ctrl + Enter after
typing the comment. This stops the 'repeat spec' action for this line
of text.
