Thx for the suggestions... just thought there might be a simple setting in preferences.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Comment Lines in Free Format

Or if you really want to go crazy - use the helpful link that Buck created to build your own LPEX Extension and insert whatever lines you want.

I used that technique to build a consistent Underline Separator and also to build a comment with x'22' after the // so it shows as HI in the normal editor.

You can configure x'22 to show in RDi as whatever character you want so you don't get those weird hidden control characters.

regards,
Craig

PS What happened to Buck?

I miss his helpful and considered responses on this forum!

If not, what you could do is just Ctrl-D to Duplicate the comment line.

If you've duplicated text you don't want, use Ctrl-Delete to Delete
from the Cursor to End of Line.

Sorry, I know this doesn't actually answer your question but it might
provide a workaround.

When using asterisks for comment lines... If you're on commented line
(using asterisk in column 7) and press enter, the next line is
formatted as a comment

When using // as comments (**FREE or not), pressing enter just
creates a new blank line w/out comments.

Can this behavior be controlled?
