Ken,
Your report really concerns me. We think we can isolate a memory leak when
large files are loaded using the dynamic parser. But if you are hitting
out of memory with that turned off, we should really get a PMR on that. I
am surprised because it sounds like you are editing an HTML file which is
using base Eclipse code that hasn't changed since 9.6. Maybe your memory
was pretty high before you started editing the HTML?

If someone would be brave enough to open a PMR on the memory leak then we
can get a test fix out, and you saw how they could effectively address
issues from 9601

Yikes, might be time for a roll-back for me...

Even turning off auto-refresh of the outline view. RDI 9.6.0.2 is going
crazy...

Now, I was trying to edit a resource HTML file, and it has gone memory over
load with this text message:
Element type = org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.Project
<repeat approximately 200 times>

Time to re-install RDI 9.6.0.1 without the text fix from march-6th. <frown>

Still trying to re-start...

Window > Preference > Remote Systems LPEX Editor > ILE RPG

"Update the Outline view hen test is change in the editor" --> UNCHECKED
"Categorize name indicator as Fields in the outline View" --> UNCHECKED

Okay. performance is definitely taking a dive as I reach the 1GB memory
limit. Where did you turn off the live outline. I remember having to
disable this a few version ago for just this type of issue, but I can't
find the setting at the moment.

Yeah, Mine has gone completely nuts...

Oh well, restart seems to clear the memory. After all, it is a PC, not an
IBM i. It has limitations...

Just sort of wish I could find a predictable way to duplicate the scenario
to report it on PMR.

It "seems" to happen on every new update. Oh well, restart a little bit
more often.

PS. I am calm, I got donuts today! <Big Smile> Better than snickers!
<grin>

Turning off the update outline as "seemed" to help my memory issues.

And I thought Task Manager showing my RDi at 1,067,588 K was high...

Okay, so happy to use RDi 9.6.0.2, and I got run away memory usage:
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__imgur.com_a_d1O53hf&d=DwICAg&c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&r=xVh0JOaBkAaa2_VJvF7mVrroZMIB4ornEW2uKL1r-oM&m=sQmRePIh6cDtc5oryw669P3wJdglNizfsk2ICtCsK9o&s=QbQvDt9YeJUGJrwN9pLY1SNUDAO0NB47J6HEqGKIDPI&e=

Now, I was cut & pasting a lot of code into a new program. Where I have to
re-do Data-structure names and such. The code does NOT compile at the
moment.

Out of the Ordinary, that is for sure!

Now, RDi 9.6.0.2 is still working, and still Stable!

As expected, I get parsing errors in the error log.

But, it is NOT locking up! Bravo!!!

I restarted to free up the memory, and it is still trucking along! <Big
Smile>

I think it is finally rock solid!!! <Joy Joy>
