Greg,
Why don't you use RDI Report Designer? I assume you have RDI, because you on the RDI message group list here. <Big Smile>

I am one of the weird ones, I used to LOVE RLU too. Although I like RDI much better. RLU had HUGE learning curve.
My only minor complain, is in RLU it is easier to move the fields with function keys. In RDI you have to use the mouse. Or change the properties for the Column. Which I like slightly better.
No doubt about it, there is a learning curve. But, once you get it, it is awesome! Just like RLU, but much better!
More screen real estate, and you can stay in the designer to compile your code too!
Often I toggle to the LPEX view, and change the line columns there. Just easier for me.

Yes, I know **free. I look at TR's as Christmas from IBM, and I always check out what's new. The couple I missed after the last 7.1 TR was torture. At 7.3 now, so Christmas is back on!
All my new code is **free, but the others here won't ever give up their internal print files.

Justin,
Just in case you do not know, **free, means Absolute NO Punch-card specs at all. Hence the 100% Free-format.
O-Specs are a punch-card spec, hence not allowed. <grin>
But, that also blocks GOTO/CABXX/MOVE/MOVEA/etc... too!
**free is 100% Freedom from 19th Century Punch-Cards! It is 100% FREEDOM! Let it RING through the RPG-World! <Big Smile>
I wrote a program to move the Punch-card Sequence numbers to right Hand Comments.
So, my cold code might have looked like this:
C007 x +=1 ;
After my conversion:
X += 1; // C007
C007 is a sample of change code tag. Which is a holdover from punch-cards...
My boss is a Microsoft programmer, and so are all my teammates. They keep asking me why do you marked code? Don't you have a previous version to compare to for changes? Yes, we have Turnover, which has archive and source comparison. But, it is still company policy to mark changed lines of code.
Oh well, the IBM i world is slow to change. Even through **free has been out for over 4-years. Which is a LONG time in computer years...
No wonder why the call the IBM i the "Univac Punch-card 400"... <disappointment> Very bad if you are still coding like it is System-36 from last Century :( So, although we have no system-36 code, but it is very hard to take the Punch-Card mentality out of the Punch-Card lovers. Oh well...
