Weird. I just was messing with a connection that DID NOT lose all filters
when I changed the address (shrugs shoulders). I find no pattern yet.

Holy crap Stuart!
I did this only:
1. COPY your connection to a new name.
2. CHANGE the new connection to the address you want.
And all the filter pools show up in the new connection. Did nothing else.
Thanks!

If you are on Windows, can you get a windows command window and PING
i5.dilgardfoods.local to be sure the DNS name has propagated properly?

I've freely switched between IP, DNS short name and DNS Long name all
simply using properties without losing any filters.

I'm changing from a hardcoded IP address (192.168.x.x) to a DNS entry
(i5.dilgardfoods.local) and I lose everything when I do.

Jeff,
If all you wish to do is rename your system connections, you should
Connectionable to right click on the RSE Host name, select the properties,
change the information on the Properties panel.
The HOST name is the actual host DNS name you added and the
Jeffname is viewable in RSE. They can be different if you wish.

How?
I exported, made the properties changes on the existing connection,
then imported. Everything is back as it was as if I had done
RationalRight where I started.

Hi Jeff,
It's best to export your properties first.
Open the export configuration dialog. Click File > Export >

Once they are exported, you can use the File > Import..
Here's an older link, but it should help.

All,
I connect to a single system via IP address. I decided I want to
connect to that system via a DNS entry instead.
I right-clicked that system, selected properties, and proceeded to
change it to the DNS entry. After reentering my password, I had
lost all the filters, etc I had set up. Thankfully I had made a
copy of the
everything?
How can I make that change to the remote system without losing
Or make a full copy (copy/paste did not do it)?
Thanks.
