Hi Rex,

Sorry for the very late response. In DCM we have a local CA, and for the
server applications we created and assigned a "server or client
certificate" there. I have exported both certificates to a .cer file and
imported them to RDI. However, it should be enough to import only the CA
certificate, since that is the one that authorizes every certificate in the
chain below it. Actually, I just tried and removed the server cert and it
is working fine with only the CA cert.

-Arco

Thanks Arco. I have used only one certificate for (successful) connection
on 9.5. It is from the hosting iSeries machine. That is the one I am using
on 9.6, so far without luck. Would you care to elaborate a little regarding
the second certificate?

My config is as follows:

- 9.5 and 9.6 installed parallel.
- A fresh workspace for 9.6
- Two certificates, I use them also in the 9.5 workspace . One cert
indentifiying the IBM i, the other identifiying the IBM i as valid CA.
- After some trying I removed both certs from the SSL list under
preferences.
- Restarted RDI in elevated mode, and added the certs in the preferences.
- Restarted RDI in elevated mode, and checked the connection to use SSL
and
did connect.succesfully
- Restarted RDI in normal mode and everything works.

Best regards,
-Arco

Nope.

I am using the same cert on 9.6 that works fine on 9.5. Is that what you
are doing? The error log seems to say there is a key problem, so I wonder
if I need a new cert for the newer Java version?

My experience is that I also needed to connect the first time as

OK thank you, now the cert shows up. Same error trying to connect
though.
