So, after a restart, once again. Rdi 9.6 seems to be working solidly...

It just appears while I am in the middle of "Massive Changes", that hoses up the Hover/Outline in RDi 9.6. Which in turn locks me up from continuing my editing of my source code.

The problem is that the restart takes over 3-minutes! Not very productive! I am doing the "-Clean" all the time to avoid errors. Like I did with RDI 9.5.1.2

So, anyway, I use split screen, to verify that I had all my parameters matched up Properly!

It is completely great that I can do a split screen in RDi 9.6, and verify that I have all my parameters lined up!

In this case I have to call a Microsoft SQL via JDBC. And I need to be sure to pass all the parameters correctly. NO mismatches!

PS. Now if IBM can fix RDi 9.6 so that it does not lock up the LPEX Editor!

Subject: RE: RDI 9.6 3rd lock up this week

Hi,

Using RDi 9.6, I thought I would explain what I was doing...

1.) Set up Prototype for an External Call, with Proper variables.
2.) Set up "Dummy" call to load the proper parameters, trying to use code Assist to complete.

SO, here is my dummy statement, where I was going to use RDi 9.6 to load the proper parameters:

MCOORARL( GnFld.GNMID
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
: x
)

Note all the "X" Place holders, which I replace with the actual variables in the program. And I let RDi 9.6 do my work for me...

But, I never expect the Outline-View to lock up my LPEX editor as I actually go about doing actual corrections. I do this quite often, because I have to make sure all the parameters match up properly. Which, Normally, Code-Assist is very HELPFUL!!!!

But, it should NOT EVER lock me out of editing my code. And then it forces me to a restart, which takes 3 plus minutes. Because I am once again back to starting up every day with "-clean" trying to avoid errors...

Code-Assist, Hovers should NEVER lock me out of editing code, not matter what ERRORS! I am editing my code to Correct Errors!

I guess RDi 9.6 is not designed to handle this type of coding practice... <Puzzled-Look>

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDI 9.6 3rd lock up this week

Hi,

Okay, here is my Error-Log, showing my RDI 9.6 locked up for the 3rd time this week:

https://imgur.com/a/zxrQD

I open PMR# 88929 442 000 on this issue...

Once again, my mouse does not work to get the editor into focus. Buck tip on the Ctrl+F6 allowed me to toggle and save my source however. But, unable to continue editing...

I forgot how "Productive" RDI 9.6, and what a "Great Time Saver" it is... Except for lock-ups...

Being force to RESTART, to get RDi 9.6 to work again... Great Productive with this Software! (When it does NOT lock-up...)
