I'm a little spoiled. My SQuirreL client gives me all the properties for jt400 in a GUI that I can just edit. I found that list, but didn't check it too closely.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] JDBC Connection properties for RDi Data Source Explorer
It does Justin - the problem is that it is focussed on method calls etc. on not just on how to specify properties on the connect string or via the RDi Data Source Explorer interface. For instance is it "auto commit" or just autocommit. It seems the latter is the correct answer. This link https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzaha/conprop.htm <https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzaha/conprop.htm> is actually a bit easier to understand as it appears to be written for IBM i folks and not for non-i folks using the JT400 tooling.
I think I now know what to specify and how - all that remains is to get the bleeping stuff to actually work!
