I'm not sure what your problem is but the callback does not affect setting
the SEP. That is use for the STRRSESVR session. When it fails it means
that the IBM i can't resolve to your PC for some reason. Typically if that
is an issue I'd recommend using SEP for debug rather than STRRSESVR ;)

And yes, it does sound like some security or network issue is blocking
things but what exactly I don't know. Maybe look at the joblogs for the
QB5* jobs for errors? If your RDI is working for your development LPAR and
you see this problem on your production LPAR then I would say that your
workspace is fine so look at the network and IBM i for the production
LPAR...

Guys,

Setting an SEP works fine for our non-production boxes.

It's our production box I'm having an issue with. Thus the reason I
suspect a network or security issue.

My issue would be understandable had this failed...
Checking server callbacks
Checking callback to RSE daemon
Callback to 10.134.52.5 on port 4300 successful

But it didn't.

Since it didn't, I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't see any errors
in the RDi log, or in the debug server jobs on the i.

When I close RDi, the Java task remains running, trying to restart

gives me a workplace in use error. I have to kill the Java task in

The missing PTF doesn't seem to explain the failure....

I suspect it's network/security related, but I'm at a loss as to

Note that debug server is started. In fact, when I ended it, I

saw a

message in RDi saying something along the lines of "server

required

for SEP

is ending"..

Any thoughts?
