Paul,

Double click on the error listing, and it takes you to the line in error.

Oh yeah, back 50-80 years ago, someone would drop a box of punched cards. And they need to sequence number to re-order the dropped punch cards.

They are complete worthless in the 21st century.

Most editors have the option to show line numbers if you wish, such as NotePad++. Just a nifty little side editor. As does Eclipse and Visual Studio.

I hide the old punch card sequence numbers in my LPEX, don't need them! Using the command line, I enter this command: " set prefixArea off "

How does a CPF* error or DUMP point to the RPG statement in error without sequence numbers in the source? And similarly for compile errors, how will the compiler report which line has a syntax error or such like?

I don't use the sequence columns anymore. Then I don't use iProjects

+1

I do not need sequence numbers either.

I would like to make it the default to strip these sequence
numbers, since the source control system provides a much richer

the current sequence numbers provide.

Are there strong objections?

I don't care about sequence numbers.

Question for clarification: Would the setting be changed for
existing iProjects (ew), or only be set for new iProjects?
