I don't buy that...

I've recreated it at will. This ONLY seems to happen when I do the following:

1. Select a row of text CTRL-C
2. Go to a different source member, CTRL-V to paste (usually an entire row of code)

At this point in the source member where I did the paste, NOTHING is highlighted, selected or otherwise marked.

Now, when I press CTRL-F, the find dialog comes up with the ENTIRE LINE in the "Find" text.... AND the "Restrict search to selection" checked/selected.

There is NOTHING selected!!!

I guess I could buy into the copied text showing up in the "Find"... but NOT the checkbox. That is useless to search the selection when nothing is selected.

I'm afraid this is probably "working as designed". Quite annoying IMO.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Search Issue

I use CTRL-F quite a bit to search within a member. Many times the search fails because the "Restrict search to selection" is (erroneously) selected. I've narrowed it down to occasions when I've selected text in another source member (tab) to paste or insert.

Has anyone else observed this behavior?
Is there a fix?

Greg
