It is just the nature of eclipse framework.

What makes you think that?

Every other package on a find/Replace. Has two text boxes. And when you tab to the "REPLACE" text box, it high-lights the WHOLE replace text. Not so with Eclipse...

What other Eclipse-based editors/IDEs have you tried?

Ctrl+H in other applications bring up the Find/Replace dialog. Not so in Eclipse.

Key bindings are a trivial adjustment and should not be considered
somehow enforced by any underlying editor framework.

It is just the way "Eclipse is designed".

I really don't know where you are getting that idea. Eclipse dictates
a lot less than you seem to think it does.

I think you are really confused about what constitutes Eclipse and
what constitutes LPEX. Most if not all of your gripes (and kudos)
really should be directed at LPEX. Or plugins. I know it is possible
for plugins to introduce unwanted behavior.

Eclipse is not causing any of the issues noted in this thread. I know
this because the RPG Next Gen Editor is also based on Eclipse, and
it's not exhibiting any of the things you're complaining about.
