In my install of RDi I have the heap indicator set. For the most part it has been stable, staying at a low 200 to 300MB of use. Lately it's starting to grow again indicating some kind of memory leak. Even clicking on the trash can icon to reclaim some of that memory hasn't been successful. But it hasn't hit the red zone for quite some time, and given the amount of memory on my laptop hasn't really been an issue.
For those who are seeing that red a little more often and do have the memory to support it, you can tweak the hash setting to like 1536 or 2048MB. To do that, edit the eclipse.ini file and change the Xmx value (should show as -Xmx1024m) from 1024 to either one of the values above. You'll at least stave off that crash to maybe the end of the day. :)

For general stability issues, you might try turning on the heap status indicator. Its in Preferences-General. If that starts hitting its limit, and you're experiencing stability issues at the same time, that could be an indicator of something. At least it lets you know a crash is coming before it actually hits. A few release back, and with certain types of source code, I'd see this heap status inflate quite a bit until RDI crashed on a java error. So, its possible your unique issues have to do with the types of source you're looking at. As further testing, you might try turning off the outline functions and some of the auto-formatting or verifying functions if you have those activated to see if you can zero in on what's causing the issue.
