Thanks...

Ken's suggestion worked (don't forget ALT-F5 to get syntax errors off your screen). I cannot get it to work from any other application, including text file open in RSE.

I have code to the left AND to the right of where I want to paste-overlay. I've been using the whole ALT-R, C, Z, F7, F8 keys for some time. I must say that the behavior of ALT-R is very unpredictable.

There has to be an easier way...

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Copy from Text and Paste-Overlay

Greg,

I paste my code in the LPEX on some empty-lines, and then select with Alt+R (R=Rectangle Select) and then paste-OVERLAY with Alt+Z.

Works every time for me. But, I concur I wish it were simpler... Oh well, I feel your pain....

Then I delete my "Scratch-Pad" area in the source.

That is the one of the biggest excuse the Old "Fossil Punch-Card Hold-outs" use at my work place. Thank God they are finally retiring!!!

PS. If there is a simpler say, I would LOVE to know how to do it!!!!

Is there an EASY way to copy text and "paste-overlay" in a RPGLE source member?
