The Activation Kit is per Authorized User (or Named User) I believe. So in
your case 6 authorized users.

The MULtiple thing indicates that the installer is for multiple operating
systems (Windows and Linux in this case)

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Licensing for RDi
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hello all,
Wanted to run something by the group......I'm guessing this has happened
with someone else before now. We are purchasing RDi at my company. I've
personally been using the demo version until it expired last week. We've
now received the electronic software notification from IBM saying that our
software is available for download. We are currently running V5R4 (I
know, I know, we're upgrading soon). I've been talking to Jon Paris and
Susan Gantner and they've said that the release of RDi isn't dependent on
what release of i/OS we have, so that's fine. I've been running the demo
RDi 9.5 just fine until the demo period expired. Here's my
question.....the text of what we're getting from IBM says "RD for i - RPG
and Cobol Tools v09.05.00,MUL,DVD". I can go to the ESS site and navigate
my way to where I would download the software. That all works fine. We
ordered 6 copies of RDi. I can't tell either from what the Electronic
Software Delivery Notification says (does the "MUL" in that description
mean "multiple copies"?) or from the ESS site itself if we indeed have 6
copies. As I walk through the download I see the activation kit is one of
the things to download, but does it have something embedded in it that
knows we have 6 copies? I know from using RDi previously that we have to
actually enter a license key for each copy.
Our business partner is basically saying that it's "multiple users" rather
than "multiple licenses".
Any info anyone would have on this would be most appreciated.
Bill
