Have a look at the spooled file support in the free iSphere plugin. It is quite extensive and does have search.

http://isphere.sourceforge.net/index.php

From the help (which may not format very well here):

Use the iSphere Spooled File Subsystem to view and manage the spooled files on an IBM i server:

Show the spooled files in the RSE Tree View using filters. Filter criteria are user, output queue, user data and form type.
Open a spooled file in Text, HTML or PDF Format.
Save a spooled file in Text, HTML or PDF Format.
Search (Ctrl+F) opened spool files in all formats.
Print (Ctrl+P) opened spool files in all formats.
If desired, use your own tools for conversion of spooled files to Text, HTML and PDF (See Preferences).
Hold a spooled file.
Release a spooled file.
Change spooled file attributes.
Reply to a message for a spooled file.
Display spooled files attributes in the Eclipse properties view.

When is this snapshot taken? When RDi is started? I have RDi configured so the Remote Systems view is minimized when the application is started (I have to click on the toolbar to open it). After opening the Remote Systems view I still have to click on "Spooled Files" and then on "My spooled files". Shouldn't the list be updated any time you click on "Spooled Files" or "My spooled files"? Would this be worthy of an RFE? Would adding a search function to find a string within a displayed spooled file be worthy of an RFE?

Did you try a "Refresh"? Please remember it is snap-shot, so try refresh.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Displaying spooled files

I compiled a program and wanted to look at the compile listing so I opened the Remote System view and clicked on Spooled Files. There is a sub-folder labeled "My spooled files" so I clicked on that. That gives me a choice of three spooled files. However, if I go to a green screen session and use WRKSPLF, I get a list of 12 spooled files in my outq. I then right clicked on "My spooled files" and selected Change. A window appears to change the spooled file filter. It is set to user *CURRENT with no filters on output queue name, output queue library, or spooled file name. Why don't all twelve spooled files appear in the view?
