Compile commands and iProject property file

3 items I'd like to inquire about


1.       Is there anyone who uses the Remote Actions -> Work with Compile Commands for purposes other than compiling sources? Currently, we create our own "compile" commands to run various home grown iSeries based utilities such as source formatting, conversion, etc. Having said this, would it be proper that these options (Work with Compile Commands, Compile, Compile (Prompt)) be renamed to something more generic such as Run Command or something else instead of just describing the action as a function of compile?

2.       Multiple source compiles uses the last compile command that was used. Is this correct?



3.       I'd like to suggest a new enhancement to the projects wherein a property file can be attached to an iProject. This property file will then contain keywords and corresponding values that can be used as a substitution variable for the compile command. For example, an iProject is created for every application release. The property file will list among its properties the keyword RELEASE with a value of 4.1.1. This release value will then substituted in the compile command using substitution variable &RELEASE. I'd be happy to start an RFE if majority of us here think this is a functionality.
