Probably not, but if you turn off incremental find it won't move the cursor.

Hi,

Ok, I think I found a difference between 8.0.3 and 9.1.1 that could explain
this.
In 9.1.1, keep the historicals research you did in the "Find" section.

There is a little box on the right that allow you to see the previous
research that you did. This "historical" fonction wasn't there is 8.0.3.

That probably explain why in 9.1.1 using the mouse wheel, it select an
other "research" and move the focus to the new location.

There is probably no way to stop using history in the find/replace ?

Hi Paul

Yeah, that setting was mentioned in the link I posted - apparently it
makes the window that gets focus to come to the front - that probably
wouldn't happen in RDi, though.

Now there's a registry hack cited in that link that keeps the window
layers as they are, still giving focus to the one behind - and there are
comments on just how well it works!

This is from windows 7, but the idea should be applicable to all versions.

Open the control panel, find the "Ease of access" (aka accessibility)
section. Under the "make the mouse easier to use" section is the tickbox
you are looking for.

I tried it for a while but it doesn't flow as well as me deciding which
window/section has the focus. Others may find this solves all their
frustrations, but like Mike said I found myself surprised when my typing
spread over two different windows because my mouse moved by itself! (No,
not a poltergeist, just a cluttered desk.)

That is, with Windows you have to explicitly give focus to something
for actions like the wheel-up /wheel-down to do something. Since the
focus is still in the Find entry field that is where it takes effect.

I think Windows has a setting which will make the focus always follow the
mouse pointer. I never use it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it.
