If I copy a stream file in Windows Explorer, the CCSID of the copy is
determined by the default setting of NetServer; owner of the copy is the
ID which is used to log in to the server.

If I copy a stream file in RDI, the CCSID of the copy is the same as the
original. Makes sense, the CPY command, which might be used to perform the
copy, has default TOCCSID(*OBJ). Alas, the default for owner is
OWNER(*NEW), while I would like to use OWNER(*KEEP).

I changed the command default for CPY from OWNER(*NEW) to OWNER(*KEEP),
but that did not seem to make any difference (I shut down RDI, ended the
accompanying server jobs and then restarted RDI).

Does anybody know if it is possible to influence this behaviour? Only
related setting I could find in preferences was 'CCSID for new files'.

Using RDI 9.01, IBM i 7.1 TR7.
