Sweet! I hadn't known about that.

BTW
Don't forget that it is even easier in RDi to go Alt-Shift-H to get hex view of current line

Try DSPPFM (lib/QRPGLESRC) (MBR) to see if there are weird characters in the line.

Ken, I checked the line above :) Yes it had the semicolon... when you
said
that I'm like crap I bet that's it.

So I copied the code and pasted it into a new member and it compiles
just fine... the old member still won't compile. Unless there are
some
printer
codes or some weird character that is present I'm not seeing that is
throwing it off.

The new version is working nonetheless.

Thanks everyone

Check the line above...
<grin>

Maybe it did not have a terminating ";" semicolon...

I started playing around with "totally free" and I was defining a
standalone variable like:

dcl-s xCmlCl# packed(9);

I also tried ...packed(9:0); which did not work either.

I'm starting at position 8.

Its generating an error and when I highlight it it says "Unexpected
Token"

I'm sure its something really stupid but even after reading Jon Paris'
article I still can't figure this out.
