Thanks for uncovering that.

The automatic closure is a good thing when working with new code, but I'm
retrofitting some existing code. The auto closure was getting annoying,
since the END statements either needed to be deleted or relocated.

Hi Craig,

I can't speak for WDSC 7.0 because I don't have it on my PC, but I do have
WDSC 6.0 for supporting legacy Webfacing applications. In WDSC 6.0 under
Window > Preferences if drill down through Remote Systems > iSeries > LPEX
Editor Parsers > ILERPG, there is an option to select whether or not you
want automatic closure of control block and a pull down to select the style
of closure you want. The pull down seems to offer all the different
permutations that are possible. I would presume that the same option must
exist in WDSC 7.0. Hopefully IBM didn't move it in WDSC 7.0. Good luck!

Using WDSC 7.0

In free-format RPG, when I enter an "if" or "do" statement, the editor
generates the corresponding "ENDIF" or "ENDDO".

How can I suppress the auto generation of the END statements? (Side note,
how can I get it to insert as lower-case, i.e., "endif" or "enddo").

Thanks

Craig Pelkie
